What is echtesnetto?
echtesnetto is an independent project that helps people understand German salary deductions and selected tax questions. Its seven free tools combine rule-based numerical models with practical explanations. The project does not claim to provide professional tax advice or official tax assessments.
How do the calculations work?
- Deterministic rules, not AI-estimated numbers. Financial amounts are calculated in JavaScript from specified rules and the supported model-year configuration.
- Official German foundations. The models refer to the published 2026 BMF payroll calculation procedure (PAP), Deutsche Rentenversicherung guidance and applicable legislation.
- Explicit limitations. Tools may reject unsupported cases or display assumptions. Matching a model result does not certify that a particular payslip or tax return is correct.
- Different time periods stay separate. Estimated monthly take-home pay, annual income tax and annual tax relief under § 35a are not added together as if they were the same thing.
Why is the §35a amount not part of monthly net pay?
The § 35a tax reduction for qualifying tradespeople’s services is claimed through the annual income-tax return. It is not a monthly wage-tax or social-insurance contribution adjustment. Our invoice splitter therefore shows a possible annual reduction separately.
What happens to your inputs?
The existing calculators perform their numerical computations in the browser and do not require an account or a payslip upload. Website hosting requests and future advertising or consent technology are separate privacy topics. Consult the current German privacy policy for those details.
Who is responsible?
